Our client has over a hundred years of experience in the design and development of farming equipment, including electronic weighing machines for cattle. They have a fantastic reputation for providing innovative and reliable solutions to the farming community. The company has developed a number of innovative products including an industry leading cattle weighing machine. This machine has continued to evolve and is highly regarded by the faming community and to support its development and due to the retiral of a long standing member of staff an opportunity has arisen for an engineer to join the development team and support the electronic/electrical development of the product.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing electronic circuits and systems for cattle weighing machines.
- Testing and validating the designed electronic systems to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the design, development, and testing phases.
- Collaborating with other team members (such as mechanical engineers) to integrate the electronic systems with other components of the weighing machines.
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in electronics and applying this knowledge to improve our products.
- Working with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and other development tools.
- Designing and implementing IoT solutions using GSM, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies.
- Ensuring compliance with UKCA/CE marking requirements.
- Designing and developing electromechanical systems.
- Designing and producing prototypes of electronic circuits and products.
- Working with a wide range of materials to take ideas from concepts to prototypes and onto finished products.
- Preparing the Bill of Materials (BOM) and documentation for the finished product design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in electronics design and development is a plus, but not a must.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Most importantly, a passion for electronics.
